Latest Innovations To Make Life-Based Care In Chronic Patients More Efficient
Judy Murphy, the chief nursing officer at IBM recently came out with a statement that indicates that in the days to come life-based care in chronic patients will become more efficient. In the last two decades, the healthcare world has already introduced a lot of positive changes, but even then there remains a communication gap between the healthcare provider and the patient.
These lingering inefficiencies have made it difficult to achieve system-wide progress and higher quality healthcare goals for overall population at a lower cost. And the patients with multiple chronic conditions have suffered the most during transitions of care as the lack of proper communication between the patients and the providers cause a lot of delay in reaching out the appropriate services to the vulnerable patients who are in need of it.
Increasing Emphasis On Predictive Modeling Of Health Treatment
Speaking at the HIMSS 2018 in Las Vegas, Murphy stated that the latest improvements in data management will ensure that the healthcare providers will be able to give better service to the patients outside the normal standard care norms than before. According to Murphy, the healthcare IT sector has made major improvements in the way it now collects and presents the data of the patients and the innovators are now actually using this data to understand the predictive modeling and forecasting.
However, to provide efficient life-based care to chronic patients the IT sector needs to make more progress in the world of healthcare, especially in the interoperable data fields which continues to be the greatest challenge to the scientists and researchers. Murphy hoped that cognitive technologies including natural language processing will definitely lessen such issues over the time.
